What if…Type 2 diabetes can be reversed?

We are typically told that once a diabetic, always a diabetic—that is, diabetes can be managed but it is not reversible once you have it. Dr Sarah Hallberg challenges this viewpoint, based on her clinical experience using a high-fat diet. Her program has been highly successful in reversing diabetes and other metabolic diseases.

Sarah Hallberg, MD is the creator and medical director of the Medically Supervised Weight Loss Program at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Indiana. She is board certified in both obesity medicine and internal medicine and has a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology. Dr. Hallberg is the co-author of www.fitteru.us, a blog about health and wellness.

Although eating such a high-fat diet seems extreme, it clearly works for some people. Would it work for me…or you? That’s the tricky part in dealing with health issues. There are very few definitive answers, so we each become the subject of our own experiment.

More about that over the next few weeks.
